This vintage portable Royal typewriter has a serial number of O T 338545, which dates it to 1933.

This typewriter is very clean and in good overall condition. The finish is still very glossy and, other than a ding near the ribbon spool and a scuff near one of the feet (see photos), there are no nicks, scratches, dents, or other marks. The decals are in near-new condition. There are no broken or missing glass keys. The chrome shows no signs of corrosion or rust. The carriage and space bar both move freely, and the platen is in very good condition.  The typewriter does type (see photo) but many of the keys stick, something that I think a thorough cleaning and oiling will correct.  The typewriter is missing the knob that turns the platen (see photo).  The case is in good condition for its age with some worn spots around the edges. The original leather handle is still in one piece. The latch works but is difficult to open and close. The outer latch helps keep the case closed properly. The inside of the case is in good condition. This typewriter appears to have been very well cared for!. The case measures 13 inches across, 12 inches from front to back, and 5 1/2 inches deep.
